Instructions

    Combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.

    Add flour, salt, softened butter, and egg. Mix until a soft dough forms.

    Knead for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic. The dough should pass the windowpane test.

    Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm spot for 1 hour or until doubled.

    Punch down and divide into 12 equal pieces (about 75g each).

    Shape each piece into a smooth ball by tucking the edges underneath.

    Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet, cover, and let rise for 45-60 minutes.

    Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Brush rolls with egg wash.
